Preparing for Winter

The capital’s preparation for the autumn-winter period, the protection of critical infrastructure, and the execution of the Comprehensive Resilience Plan were the main topics of a coordination meeting chaired by the Minister of Restoration, Infrastructure, and Transport of Ukraine, Mykola Kalashnyk.

Particular attention was paid to the engineering and technical protection of energy and utility infrastructure facilities, the development of distributed generation, the implementation of cogeneration units, ensuring backup power for heating and water supply facilities, and adherence to the timelines for implementing measures crucial for Kyiv’s readiness for the autumn-winter period.

During the meeting, reports from responsible executors on the implementation of resilience plan measures and the fulfillment of approved schedules were heard. The Minister emphasized that all work must be completed strictly within the designated deadlines, as it concerns critical infrastructure facilities upon whose functioning the safety and life support of the capital depend.

Responsible executors have been tasked with submitting detailed work schedules for each facility within the shortest possible timeframe, specifying clear final completion deadlines. The State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine has been instructed to ensure daily monitoring of work progress at all Comprehensive Resilience Plan facilities, promptly inform the Ministry of any deviations from approved schedules, and immediately address risks that could affect project implementation timelines.

Previously, it was reported that over 2400 apartment buildings had strengthened their energy independence.
