Following the controversy surrounding the Order of the White Eagle, which Poles viewed as a positive for the country on the international stage, the Polish government has not yet commented on the news of the establishment of a National Pantheon in Ukraine.

Warsaw awaits a complete list of figures that Ukrainians decide to honor, writes the Polish publication Onet.
Neither the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, nor the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, have made public statements on this matter, so as not to give Kyiv a reason to accuse Warsaw of imposing its own historical narrative.
“There is no point in summoning the ambassador or sending a note at this moment. We cannot allow Ukrainians to provoke us,” the publication quotes an unnamed high-ranking Polish official.

However, it is noted that the list of names in the Ukrainian National Pantheon will be of fundamental importance to Poland. Figures associated with the Volhynian tragedy will be unacceptable to Warsaw. Political pressure on the Polish authorities, both from opposition forces and from society, will be immense.
“I do not want to name specific individuals who would be unacceptable to us now, but we are already receiving signals that Stepan Bandera may appear on the list. This would be critical news for our relations,” said a government interlocutor.
Recall that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, submitted a bill to the Verkhovna Rada on the creation of a National Pantheon.
